With your help, this page will soon include personal stories of those who have been touched in some way by ALS. Filled with dignity and hope, fear and strength, these stories will truly showcase the indomitable determination of the human spirit.

Gilles LeBlanc
On May 12, 2011, Gilles LeBlanc accepted the Great Spirit Award from the ALS Society of New Brunswick at the first annual SPIRIT Gala. The purpose of this award is to recognize the exemplary leadership and SPIRIT shown by an ALS client. It is awarded for an outstanding contribution by the client to the advancement of the mission and goals of the ALS Society of New Brunswick.
Gilles is no longer able to speak, but his good friend Shirley Smallwood read this speech on his behalf and he has agreed to share it with you.
